Shortly after I posted a few comments on this blog regarding the changes in Indiewood of late, an esteemed colleague asked why I hadn't included those criticisms in a recent indieWIRE story about Polly Cohen being named the new head of Warner Independent Pictures. While that wasn't the right time and place to delve into such issues, clearly its a hot topic, but those in Hollywood seem to take a sharply different view of the situation.

In her weekly industry column - Risky Biz - Hollywood Reporter's Anne Thompson offers a rosy perspective on the state of the specialty divisions, while over on his blog, MovieCityNews' David Poland calls her column wrongheaded.
