We decided to try something new leading up to our coverage of SXSW this year, compiling an insiders guide to Austin comprised of tips we received from a bunch of locals. Film festivals draw us to a number of terrific cities and over the course of ten days in town, we've found that the experience is even richer if we take time to visit the local favorites. Already, after only about 36 hours here in Austin, I've already had a chance to check out a couple of recommended restaurants, namely Guero's on South Congress and Iron Works BBQ near the convention center. I highly recommended both.
