I just had to find a way to get this unexpected photo from the opening night of the New York Film Festival onto the blog. The pooch was perched outside Village on 9th St., observing the post 2 a.m. reverie at the after-party (no idea how to create this image, it was a beautiful accident). Fido later jumped into the back of a convertible and rode off before the bash ended. Also, good friend Janet offers an excellent dispatch from the NYFF opening weekend, while indieWIRE colleague James Israel compares and contrasts Friday's opening night at they NYFF with the kick-off of the Coney Island Film Festival in Brooklyn.
