I loved Ballast, but I think you've probably seen it.

Word on the street is "La France" is supposed to be phenomenal, and I've heard great things about "Valse Sentimental".

well, la zona got the only no-audience award at toronto, and the opera prima prize at venice together with two other prizes there.

I second your pick of Moving Midway, Eug. Saw a rough cut over a year ago and even then it was strong. And always interesting to see when a film critic gets his hands dirty on his own movie, especially a doc (looking forward to Gerald Peary's doc about film critics). Always thought Godfrey is one of the best and most thoughtful critics, too. I miss his reviews.
