What a day. A little over 24 hours ago, on indieWIRE's 12th anniversary, we signed a deal selling indieWIRE to SnagFilms, the web 2.0 start-up launched by Ted Leonsis. The deal was six months in the making, with Micah Green at CAA wisely making the match.

We polished a press release all morning and then I sat down to write a letter to our readers, finishing tonight just as the news broke. Over at Variety, Anne Thompson ties it altogether very well.

Brian Brooks, James Israel and I are thrilled about this terrific new opportunity, excited to join forces with Ted Leonsis, Rick Allen, Stephanie Sharis, Andrew Mer and the whole gang at Snag. There will be much more to say, but for now I need to grab a few hours of shut eye.
