What were the best and worst films and performances of Sundance 2009? Over the weekend, we polled thirty film critics and bloggers to find out. “Push” and “The Cove” topped the survey in the best category, while “The Informers” was named the worst.

A few years ago, John Cooper and the Sundance Film Festival programmers lead the audience in a “Sun Dance” on closing night. Backstage at the Sundance Film Festival awards ceremony a few minutes ago, “Push” director Lee Daniels, winner of three awards, celebrates with Cinetic’s John Sloss. Cinetic was stoking a sale of the film as the ceremony began tonight, having already stirred the support of Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry, according to insiders. Expect Sloss and Cinetic to slow things down a bit now as they bask in the glow of the triple win tonight (and probably try to raise the price amidst a market that has been rather slow at Sundance). The complete winners story is at indieWIRE.com.
