iwPOLL07.jpgThe indieWIRE team worked long hours to get our annual critics poll together, so its great to see that the early reviews are in. Even though the results were just posted about seven hours ago, I am hardly surprised that film bloggers are weighing in early and often:

"This is one of the major events of the cinematic year." - David Hudson, GreenCine

"Your Christmas weekend time suck is here, in the form of indieWIRE’s massive 2007 Critics Poll. There Will Be Blood takes top honors, but as usual, the real fun lies in investigating the individual ballots and spotting the idiosyncrasies." - Karina Longworth, Spout.com

"For most American viewers, this is going to be a Netflix list..." -- Jim Emerson's Scanners Blog, Chicago Sun-Times

"Usually the films on a majority poll are somewhat predictable, but this listing is chaotic." -- Peter Sciretta, Slash Film

"Now, if you'll excuse us, we're going to go ahead and spend far too much time obsessing over the ballots and gossiping about who has the most boring or outrageous picks with colleagues. We are not as nerdy as you think we are. We are much worse." - IFC TV Blog
