While people are buzzing about Pixar's "Cars," another car movie is coming soon...namely, Chris Paine's "Who Killed the Electric Car?"
Calling the release a powerful "one-two punch" on the heels of the Al Gore doc, "An Inconvenient Truth," filmmaker Michael Moore hosted a screening of the new film this week in New York. Introducing the showing with Paine, and producer Dean Devlin, Moore said that these two films together will affect change and raise awareness of global warming and oil issues, adding, "An informed public in a democracy is essential for the protection of our freedom." indieWIRE has posted a couple of iPOP shots from the event...for more, check out the film's trailer (on the Apple site).
As for Moore's anticipated new film, he told me that he is about half-way finished with "Sicko," his next feature documentary and expects to conclude it by the end of the year for a 2007 release.
