SXSW is at its midpoint.

Earlier today in indieWIRE, I tried to make sense of the film and interactive fests during the first half of South By. Now it's time for some music.

Here are 10 acts I am hoping to catch here in Austin this week.

The full list is after the jump...

"Acid Girls" (Los Angeles)
MySpace | Spinner
WHY: Like the sound, highly recommended by a SoCal friend.

Broken Bells (Los Angeles)
MySpace | Spinner
WHY: A collaboration between James Mercer and Danger Mouse has yielded some cool new music. Looking forward to seeing them live.

Black Joe Lewis and The Honeybears (Austin)
MySpace | Spinner
WHY: A friend caugh Joe Lewis earlier this week in Austin and said it was a great gig.

Broken Social Scene (Toronto)
MySpace | Spinner
WHY: Apparently these Canadians haven't been to SXSW in seven years. In 2010 they have a few shows as well a documentary.

The Drums (Brooklyn)
MySpace
WHY: Brooklyn boys in Austin. Let's see what NYC has to offer.

Hole (NYC)
MySpace
WHY: Courtney. Love.

Shadow Shadow Shade (Los Angeles)
MySpace | Spinner
WHY: As I already blogged, I caught part of their set last night at the IFC party. Hope to hear some more this week.

Warpaint (Los Angeles)
MySpace | Spinner
WHY: Highly recommended by a friend who wrote, in an email recently, "See 'em before they are huge!"

Washed Out (Perry, GA)
MySpace
WHY: Recommended by a friend. Intriguing sound.

The xx (London)
MySpace | Spinner
WHY: I like their new album a lot.

Eug, hope you were able to catch Sarah Flotard's sister, Rachel, fronting Visqueen! And let us know if anyone did any Alex Chilton covers - sad, sad news.
