I love this photo, I snapped it with my iPhone a few minutes before Lynn Shelton walked onto the stage at the Eccles theater in Park City nearly six months ago for her first screening of "Humpday." On stage, introducing the movie, Lynn was thrilled, as I reported in indieWIRE that day:

This is my third feature,” Shelton told the warm Sundance audience today shortly after noon. (Her previous films are 2008’s “My Effortless Brilliance” and “We Go Way Back”.) “I’ve been thirsting to stand here for a long time,” she added, “I am not taking anything for granted.”

And earlier today, she put out an email plea inviting friends to check out the movie in theaters this weekend:

Dearest Friends:

The day has come at last...HUMPDAY, (aka "The Little Film That Could") is opening theatrically this coming Friday July 10th!

Its theatrical run starts in two cities on that date: NYC (at the Angelika Film Center) and in SEATTLE (at the Harvard Exit) and will roll out to OTHER CITIES in the weeks following (for a complete list, please refer to the HUMPDAY website http://humpdayfilm.com/ under the "Theatres" tab.)

The number of butts we can get into seats THIS WEEKEND will determine the scope of this small, lovingly hand-made film's eventual release into the wider world.

Please help us by spreading the word to all of your friends, acquaintances and cohorts on the two coasts...consider creating viewing parties with several of your buds! (ANY screening this opening weekend will go towards the all important "per screening" count...matinees, evenings..whenever is most convenient for you..)

Much love and gratitude,

The Merry Humpsters

PS. REMEMBER: ANY TIME THIS WEEKEND will help us towards our goal of upping the "per screening" count...you DON'T HAVE TO MAKE IT to the opening screening at 7pm Friday night...you could come any time FRIDAY, SATURDAY or SUNDAY! Thanks again for the love...xox

Check it out!
