A truly talented independent filmmaker died yesterday, as we just reported in indieWIRE. Garrett Scott (and co-director Ian Olds) risked their lives to tell the Iraq war story depicted in their documentary "Occupation Dreamland" and its truly heartbreaking that Scott will not be able to share more of his work with us. I'll be thinking about him, his family and friends, and his powerful film, tomorrow at the Spirit Awards where he and Olds are nominated for the Truer Than Fiction award.

That is so incredibly sad. Such a loss.
