With Fox Sports correspondent Ken "knows-it-all" Rosenthal reporting that Orioles owner Peter Angleos is in possible discussions to end his reign of terror...er...sell the team to a group headed by Oriole legend, Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr., I was struck by Mr. Angelos' striking resemblance to another familiar villian...
Angelos...............................................Emperor Palpatine (or is it the other way around?)
....and so it goes.
Hours after the original post, The Baltimore Sun prints Palpatine's reply:
"Angelos: No Ripken sale
He denies report that ex-star's group will buy O's gradually, like Ravens"
Good thinking. Why would the Orioles ever want to emulate a successful sports franchise like the Ravens, 2000 Super Bowl Champions, who are currently 10-3 and headed-to-the-playoffs? (Things are lining up especially well for the Ravens as two of their final three remaining games are at home, and all three are against teams with losing records: the Browns, Bills and Steelers.)
Hey Cal! Thumbs up if you think Peter Angelos looks like Emperor Palpatine.
