This weekend, at least two nice things happened to Mark Cuban:
1) His hoops franchise, the Dallas Mavericks, took out a tenacious Phoenix Sun's squad with a decisive road victory. Overcoming a game 6 double-digit half-time deficit, the Mavs came-back and won the NBA Western Conference Finals.
Under the guidance of Mr. Cuban, a once pathetic team is now on its way to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.
Good luck against the Heat!
...and speaking of heat...
2) AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH proved to be a powerhouse this weekend, at the box office. The global warming doc yielded a stunning $1.3 million in 77 theatres (about $17,000 per screen avg), cleaning-up on screens in at least 11 Cuban owned Landmark Theatres--with dozens more on the horizon as the film expands in the coming weeks.
Now if Mr. Gore could only privide a solution to Shaq, Dwyane and Pat Reilly's Heat.
