The Little League World Series rules!
For starters, unlike MLB's World Series, little Little League World Series actually includes teams from all over the world.
Then, you've got the whole innocence of youth crossed with a love of the game thing going on. No cynical pro atheletes, lazily dogging it to first base on a routine hit like Detroit's Sean Casey who stopped running on a ball he thought was caught by an infielder. By the time hhe realized that the ball was still live, he was unable to beat left fielder Pablo Ozuna's throw to first base.
Finally: these kids wear their emotions on their sleeves. When they care as much as these kids do, there IS crying in baseball.
Rained out on Sunday, the Little League World Series finals between Japan and the USA--repped this year by Columbus Georgia--have been postponed til tonight. 8 p.m. EST, on ESPN2.
