Film Recap: "Code 46"
Saw a press screening of Michael Winterbottom's futuristic romance "Code 46" last night. Winterbottom might just be my favorite director working today...so I had high expectations for this one despite the mixed reviews I heard from Toronto. I think I'd agree with many earlier reports that the chemistry between Samantha Morton and Tim Robbins doesn't quite click, but I really found much to admire in the flick nonetheless. There are some really interesting ideas about societies of the future -- languages, genetics, controlled movements, etc. Definitely a thought-provoking film. Check it out when it opens in August!
