Mel Karmazin the president and COO of Viacom Inc. has resigned, according to a company announcement today. As part of a new "corporate succession plan", this morning the company's board named two executives -- Tom Freston and Leslie Moonves -- to the position of co-president and co-chief operating officer. Freston is the chairman and CEO of MTV Networks, while Moonves is the chairman and CEO of CBS.
