Playwright Amy Fox and director Chris Terrio found a couple of fairy godfathers in James Ivory and the late Ismail Merchant. Together, in an interview with Sylviane Gold of The New York Times, they discuss how Fox’s one act play, “Heights,” set on a New York City rooftop, evolved into a full length feature (opening on June 10) starring Glen Close and Elizabeth Banks, and how Terrio got to direct the film at 25.
