Actor Christopher Walken received CineVegas' "Marquee Award" last night (Tuesday) at the Palms Resort in Las Vegas. Fellow actors Joe Pesci, Dennis Hopper (a CineVegas board member) and Laurence Fishburne joined moderator Elvis Mitchell, former NY Times critic, in a conversation with Walken, recounting his many roles and sharing in some laughs. Pesci delighted in remembering Walken working for "only" $500 a week in a New York stage play some years back, and flirting with waitresses in the Big Apple. For his part, Walken acknowleged the number of roles he's played as a villain, commenting, "Movies are so expensive, that if you do a role [right], chances are you'll be asked to do it again." His 1990 film, "King of New York," directed by Abel Ferrara, was then screened for the packed house.
