Comes, fighting back tears at numerous times as he chatted, has emerged as a powerful advocate against the Catholic Church's continued resistance in dealing with the serious issue of priests abusing young children.

Abused as boy, Comes and his wife allowed filmmaker Kirby Dick to document their experiences as they stepped into the public spotlight with their pain. Enlisting the support of family, friends and other abused Catholics, Comes had deeply struggled with his faith and has been facing off against his personal demons and the Church.

To hear Comes tell it, he has not yet begun to fight. "I will not stop," he promised, "Because now I know too much."

The film will air on Tuesday, June 28th on HBO and as reported in indieWIRE this week, will be released in theaters next month.
