For his next film, essentially "Henry Fool" Part 2 as he explained it, Hartley will shoot in Berlin, Paris, and Istanbul. Parkey Posey will star as the title character of "Fay Grim", playing the wife of Henry Fool -- 7 years later -- in a story of, "a well intentioned but naive American who finds out about what the world is really like." He added, it will be shot on HD and edited on a Mac.
Asked about why he is moving to Europe, Hartley said, "I need to work and I can't work here. Its impossibe to make art film in America, particularly in New York." Continuing he added, "Its just too expensive to make work here, if you want to pursue work that is based on your interest you can't necessarily be tied to being a commercial success and thats all that happens here."
