Maya Churi will discuss "Forest Grove," a unique interactive web narrative that screened at the 2005 Sundance Online Film Festival. "Forest Grove" is composed of still photography (shot by "Maria Full of Grace" Cinematographer Jim Denault) that uses architectual models, voiceover, animation, and music to tell the story of Charlie, a fourteen-year-old boy who swims across his idyllic, gated community where he encounters various neighbors, meets strange inhabitants, and even falls in love. Maya will discuss how she created almost every aspect of this imaginative, detailed world using her MAC.
