INDUSTRY MOVES: Ganis Named AMPAS President

Last night in Los Angeles, Sid Ganis was elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Ganis is beginning his 19th year as a governor representing the public relations branch and he has served as first vice president of the Academy for the past two years. He succeeds Frank Pierson.
