Fresh off its run at the 35th Toronto International Film Festival, Takashi Miike's "13 Assassins," which debuted at the Venice Film Festival, will serve as this year's Fantastic Fest Closing Night Film. The film, a period action picture, is set at the end of Japan's feudal era. It follows a group of unemployed samurai who are enlisted to take down a sadistic lord and prevent him from ascending the throne. "Assassins" is a remake of a 1963 film of the same name, based on a real-life incident.
