Twenty-one years after their last collaboration ("Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!"), Pedro Almodovar and Antonio Banderas are re-teaming on the Spanish director's new film, "La piel que habito," according to Variety. The two had worked together in "Labyrinth of Passions" (1982), "Matador (1986), "Law of Desire" (1987), "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" (1988) and "Tie Me Up!" (1989).
Variety noted that "Piel" will very loosely adapt the 1995 novel "Mygale" by Thierry Jonquet, with Almodovar describing it as "a horror story without screams or shocks." He first announced "Piel" in 2002, hoping it would star Banderas and Penelope Cruz. It has since undergone nine re-writes since, and the current version no longer has an appropriate role for Cruz, Almodovar told Spanish newspaper El Pais Wednesday.
