The Dubai International Film Festival has announced a partnership with Lebanon-based Beirut DC, an organization that promotes regional independent filmmaking. As part of their collaboration, DIFF will provide an incubating fund of $10,000 to Beirut DC's Documentary Course, aimed at inspiring young documentarians and improving their filmmaking skills. The selected documentary project will be presented at DIFF's co-production market Dubai Film Connection to seek financial and technical support. DIFF has recently entered into a similar partnership with Royal Film Commission-Jordan whereby four screenwriting graduates from RFC's Middle East Screenwriters Lab also will attend the Dubai Film Connection to further develop their projects. DIFF's seventh edition will take place December 12-19. [Basil Tsiokos]
