"How I Ended This Summer," Aleksei Popogrebsky's Russian-language thriller, has been picked up for distribution in North America by Film Movement. The film tells the story of two meteorologists, one a seasoned veteran and the other only recently out of school, working in the isolated Arctic Circle. It was the winner of two Silver Bear awards in the Berlin International Film Festival for Best Actor and Best Cinematography. The film will open in New York this September, with a limited theatrical release elsewhere to follow. It was also be available this fall on Video on Demand. [Caitlin Nascher]
