The 56th International Short Film Festival that runs from April 29 – May 4 in Oberhausen, Germany is going back in time with their program “From the Deep: The Great Experiment 1898-1918”. Over 100 films from that period will be screened during the festival.
Program curator, Mariann Lewinsky stresses that filmmakers of that period enjoyed immense freedom and experimented freely with their short films. “We want to invite audiences to rediscover a lost cinema continent,” she says.
