The first major acquisition deal of the Sundance Film Festival has just been announced. Davis Guggenheim and Participant Media's "Waiting for Superman" has been picked up by Paramount Pictures. The film focuses on the cracks in the U.S. public education system. The deal brings Paramount together again with Oscar-winning Guggenheim ("An Inconvenient Truth") and Participant.
