2010 Toronto International Film Festival entry "Outside the Law" by Algerian filmmaker Rachid Bouchareb has been picked up by a new distribution group. Cohen Media Group, LLC (CMG), formed by Charles S. Cohen, Edmondo Schwartz and Steve Scheffer, will open Stateside this November. Written and directed by Bouchareb, the French-Algerian film "Outside the Law" (Hors-la-loi) is a dramatic telling of the Algerian struggle for independence from France after WWII, and a continuation of Bouchareb's Academy Award nominated "Days of Glory."

Cohen Media Group plans to distribute independent, domestic and foreign films throughout North America. The company will release only a select number of films each year. "Outside the Law" premiered in competition at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. The film will open in the United States in November 2010.
