UK Police Allegedly Try to Censor Gang Movie

The Birmingham Post is reporting cinemas in Birmingham, UK were the site of a showdown between police and filmmakers.  The doc “1 Day” looks at a rivalry between two UK gangs, is set to open up in general release in the UK next week.  Though the police claim that they have done nothing to censor the film, they continue, “I have always been consistent in saying that I am concerned it glamorises gangs and the impact this will have on the people of Birmingham.”  The article reports a theater that is not showing the film at the urging of the West Midlands Police.
