Indie Film Producer Manne Joins Parker and Whitaker on Arts Council

President Obama has just announced the members of his Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.  Liz Manne (producer of “A Dog Year” and “The Heart of the Game”) will join Sarah Jessica Parker, Yo-Yo Ma, Forest Whitaker and several others on the committee.  Michelle Obama will serve as the group’s chairwoman, with film producer George Stevens Jr. and Margo Lion, theater producer, serving as co-chairs.  The panel will focus on education in arts and the humanities, cultural diplomacy, and economic revitalization of the arts.  [Bryce J Renninger]
