ACI Inks Sales Rights Pact for Polish Brothers’ Latest

LA-based sales and distribution company American Cinema International has acquired worldwide sales rights to comedy/drama “Smell of Success” by the Polish brothers from Initiate Productions, ACI’s president Chevonne O’Shaughnessy said Tuesday. ACI is introducing the film to foreign buyers for the first time at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica where the film will have its market debut. The film stars Billy Bob Thornton, Tea Leoni, Kyle MacLachlan and Ed Helms (“The Hangover”).

After Mr. Rose, the genius of Rose’s Manure Company, dies in a freak accident, his daughter Rosemary (Leoni) takes charge. She is against a slick talking competitor (MacLachlan) who wants to take over the manure industry, only to battle with Rose Manure’s best sales rep Patrick Fitzpatrick (Thornton). In the tale of comedy, Rosemary transforms herself from a manicured woman to a selling machine who is against all odds to restore the family business.

The film is the second Polish brothers film picked up by ACI in as many weeks, having picked up the duo’s romatic comedy, “Stay Cool” with Winona Ryder, Mark Polish, Sean Astin, Hilary Duff, Josh Holloway, and Jon Cryer, with Chevy Chase.
