Bahamas Intl Film Fest Unveils Lineup

The Bahamas International Film Festival has unveiled its lineup for the 6th edition of its fest.  Running from December 10-17, the festival’s competition categories are Spirit of Freedom: Narrative, Spirit of Freedom: Documentary, New Visions, and Short Films.  Special programming sections will focus on the Caribbean, world Cinema, and Hispanic cinema.  Films like Anthony Fabian’s “Skin,” Soderbergh’s “The Girlfriend Experience,” “Wonderful World,” “Baghdad Texas,” “Sin Nombre,” “Sweet Crude,” and “House of Numbers” will join previously announced “Children of God” and “Precious,” the fest’s opening and closing films.

Commented Exec Director Leslie Vanderpool, “The 6th Bahamas International Film Festival delivers a wide assortment of films from around the world that will no doubt entertain and enliven the island for the week. For anyone who shares a sincere appreciation for independent films of the highest quality, this festival will be a special experience. There is something every member of the Bahamian community can enjoy and we encourage everyone to see as many of these films as they can. We’re excited to have an extraordinary group of filmmakers here supporting their films and taking part in Festival events.”  The complete program can be found here.
