Tagliavini To Direct “Without Men”

Gabriela Tagliavini (“Ladies Night”) has been hired by producer Anthony Moody (“Day Zero”) to adapt and direct a film based on the English novel “Tales from The Town of Widows and Chronicles from the Land of Men” by Colombian novelist James Cañón.  The film is tentatively titled “Without Men.”  Cañón’s 2007 novel centers on a remote Latin American town in which the women must take over their town after the town’s men are recruited by communist guerillas.  Tagliavini says of the novel, “I finished reading Tales the same day my agent sent it to me, and I knew immediately that I had to bring these amazing women to life on screen.” [Bryce J Renninger]
