Thessaloniki to Fete Herzog

The Thessaloniki Film Festival has unveiled a roster of masterclasses, exhibitions, and concerts to accompany its 50th edition, to take place November 13-22. Werner Herzog will speak about his career in a masterclass entitled “The Enigma of Werner Herzog: From Documentary to Fiction” on November 21. The festival will also be presenting a retrospective of Herzog’s work and the German director is the subject of an exhibition called “Signs Of Life - Werner Herzog And The Cinema,” which will include photographs and videos of Herzog at work. Among the other filmmakers on tap to lead masterclasses are director Goran Paskaljevic, composer Alexandre Desplat, and screenwriter Tony Grisoni. In addition, the festival will host various round tables, art exhibitions, performances, and concerts by Greek and international musicians, including a concert by Jane Birkin.
