Has anyone noticed that Summer 2012 is going to be quite a doozy for comic book films?
THE AVENGERS (Joss Whedon, May 4th, 2012)
SPIDERMAN Reboot (Marc Webb, July 3rd, 2012)
BATMAN 3 (Chris Nolan, July 12th, 2012)
Basically Spiderman vs. Batman... Who will win out? I think more fans will clamor for Nolan's sharp Batman reboot over Spiderman in 3D but we'll see how Marc Webb (500 DAYS OF SUMMER) handles an insane learning curve. But Joss Whedon will probably deliver something quite clever in the first superhero team up film since Brett Ratner's very lame X-MEN: THE LAST STAND (2006).
2011 is full of less known superheroes. Though Martin Campbell (CASINO ROYALE) doing GREEN LANTERN is my favorite of the bunch and probably the only super hero character that stands out as totally original in this whole group of films.
THOR (Kenneth Branagh, May 6th, 2011)
GREEN LANTERN (Martin Campbell, June 17th 2011)
CAPTAIN AMERICA (Joe Johnston, July 22, 2011)
