McAsian

www.i-am-asian.com

This has to be one of the lamest websites I’ve ever seen, and not because it is spreading the McDonald’s campaign of artery clogging, diabetes inducing processed food product to everywhere from Cambodia to Japan.

I never knew that the powers that be at McDonalds were so interested in offering insight into the various Asian-American backgrounds.

From the site:

As Americans with Asian and Pacific Islander heritage, we have many things in common. But we are very different too. We’re from different countries, and celebrate different holidays and customs throughout the year. For example, some of us observe the Lunar New Year, while others observe the Western New Year on January 1st.

I particular like the interesting trivia that it provides, like:

Ronald McDonald is “Donald McDonald” in Japan because it makes pronunciation easier for the Japanese.

Antarctica is the only continent that does not have a McDonald’s restaurant - yet.

Too bad Morgan Spurlock wasn’t Super-sizing it in Uruguay. He could have od’d on the “McHuevo”, which is a hamburger with a poached egg on top.
