Trekkies Bash New Star Trek Film As 'Fun, Watchable'
I saw the new "Star Trek" last nite and as this Onion piece mocks, I was wondering as well how hardcore Trek fans feel about a new, slick action packed Kirk and Spock with very little of the cerebral pontificating that was part of the original series.
Regardless, the new film is really entertaining, a little silly, and re-invents what was a tired, uninspired cliche when the last attempt "Enterprise" (with Scott Bakula as Captain) failed to ignite interest back in 2001.
Hopefully the new series will live long and prosper.
