Who has a Halloween party nearly a week before Halloween and on Tuesday of all days? The answer is that bastion of journalistic integrity US Weekly (scoff if you will, but they never hired Judy Miller...). I understand getting a jump on the competition, but this is just too damn early. First off my costume is still in complete disarray as I’m one of those folks who has six ideas and won't decide on one until an hour before I need to wear it. Secondly the “come as your favorite celebrity” angle just doesn't work because I don't have a favorite celebrity (though Shatner comes close). And lastly, the only the other time I went to a Halloween party outside of a four day radius, I ended up being the only one who actually dressed for the occasion, and looked equally foolish for it. Of course none of this means I won't be showing up, but I think I’m allowed an airing of grievances (or I am thinking of another holiday…).
