No pride, just prejudice

Take a break from the politically created box office culture war of Brokeback Mountain and The Chronicles of Narnia (hey, what about Memoirs of Geisha - isn't someone pissed off at legalized prostitution? Dobson?) to focus on two of my recent favorites subjects (read semi-obsessions): Michael Kinsely and Jane Austen.

Lucky for me, Kinsley's weekly column is all about the question who is America's Jane Austen. And, in our increasingly corporately controlled culture, it comes as no shock that the answer he provides is not a person, but a corporation... well I'm not going to blow the surprise. Read it here. And then write Michael and ask him if he really had to include a certain show that we all wish could be wiped from our memory
.
