Yes the Golden Globes have announced their nominations and the countdown to "Hollywood's biggest party of the year" has begun. To many the Globes are a bit of joke what with the HFPA's lax working standards, their small membership, and a possible history of wining and dining that seems remarkably like bribery. But maybe the joke's on us, because what do the HFPA and the Globes really do, but distill the ridiculousness of all award shows down to their essence and shove it in our faces: awards are about parties, celebrities, and business... and we love them anyway.
