The Dangers of Digital

After four+ years with basic cable (basic being the networks, TBS, C-Span and a roving channel that switches every two-three months), I've finally gone digital, and it's proving to be just the distraction I thought it to be. Take tonight, when after returning from a screening, I ended up getting caught up in MTV True Life: I'm moving to NY. Talk about Reality TV. Somehow the producers found the most cliché character types that even the worst hack in Hollywood would know to stay clear of, somehow drained theses people of all characters and watched them move to New York. Oh no, the rich jappy girl is spending too much on electricity and going shopping instead of paying her bill. The numbskull comes to NY with $95 to his name to become a world famous male model. At least you had some sympathy for the best friends, he gay, she a lesbian, who scraped their way to New York by getting paid to paint number on the curb outside residential houses in Ohio, moved into an apartment in Bushwick and are last scene dancing the night away. I can tell this extra 60 bucks a month is really gonna pay off.
