Back in 1990 the strangely funny movie Crazy People opened. It starred the late, great Dudley Moore as an advertising exec who starts a campaign for truth in advertising only to be summarily locked in an insane asylum by his pathological, greedy boss (while there he finds love in the form of Daryl Hannah, and we all learn crazy people aren't that crazy). During one scene, an endless line of people rip sheets of paper from ad proudly proclaiming "Yes, I want to go to the bathroom." And now, for every person who would have taken one of those flyers, for every person who's ever used a public bathroom, Slate offers up an expose on the self flushing tiolet.
