Last weekend I made it up to Woodstock for the film festival for the first time in a few years. It felt very much like I remembered it - a good group of film folks getting out of the city for a couple of days and chatting movies. All around fun times, though I was slightly disappointed by my visit to Marianne's Country Kitchen, which last time offered not one but two fights between locals within a twenty minute period, the second being a cat fight to boot.

The only movie I managed to catch was Godfrey Cheshire's Moving Midway. Through the premise of physically moving a plantation from one location to another, the movie provides a though provoking examination of the modern South. As a history buff I was particularly intrigued by the competing memories of the different family members Black and White, and even among the different generations within the same race. If you have chance it's definitely worth watching...

...then again does anyone actually read this blog for movie recomendations? Cause if you do, you're probably looking in the wrong place.
