Forty Shades of Blue opens today after having it's premiere last week during (though somehow not part of) Independent Film Week. The party took place at the Tribeca Film Center, which is (with the IFC Center) the go to place for indie premieres and events. And like all events there, the location offers the familiar feel of an old friend while you are surrounded by people you know and like. It's not a splash, but it almost always a success. That said, I think distributors wishing to spice up the comfort should consider adding themes to the party. An example? Maybe every guest should be required to wear a shade of blue to the party or every drink should be spiced with a little hypnotic (and I hate hypnotic).... Any takers? Anyone?
