Under a Neon Sign (yes, the name makes me blanche too - but what's done is done) will be on hiatus for 10 days due to a northwestern road trip sans computer. I know this might throw off my loyal readers who check in like clock work everyday at 4:30 PM to see what thought provoking statement I've made today (can't a fellow be delusional every now and again?), and for that I apologize. I offer the following as temporary replacements: If you're interested in the inane (and i do mean inane) chatter of Washington insiders check out the note; if it's partisan democratic righteousness go to Kos or Altercations; for general good reading go to slate; and for movies, well, you should probably be reading the other blogs on this site. They do a better job of it than me.
See you in 10 days!
Oh and one question to the news media second and thankfully not nearly as deadly round of British bombings - why is when too many people die in an attack you feel it necessary to devote one or two good paragraphs to the effect (or lack thereof) on the stock market, yet when nearly everyone is okay you focus solely on the people? I don't know about anyone else, but when I'm worried about a love one, friend or even acquaintance I couldn't give one rats ass about the security of my google stock.
