Back in 1991 (the same year that produced such comedy classics as Scott Bakula's Necessary Roughness , Ed O'Neill's Dutch and Oliver Stone's JFK ) John Landis hit six-degree-of-kevin-bacon gold with Oscar, the sidesplitting tale of a pre-Copland Sylvester Stallone as a mafia boss trying to go straight in 1930's new york, despite four cases of mistaken identites, two mistaken briefcases, one illegitamite daughter and cast that includes Kirk Douglas, Marissa Tomei, Tim Curry, Harry Shearer, William Atherton, Kurtwood Smith, Chazz Palminteri and yes, Joey Travolta. I think I can say, that despite all wishful press blathering about possible upsets, that this fifteen year old film, will offer more suprises and entertainment than this year's Oscar race.
