Among the films are opening today including one must see (murderball), and many others I haven't seen, but would like to. Amongst the unseen is Fantastic Four. All the reviews seem to call it "light" or "kiddy friendly" or "quick;" what is more interesting is the way each critic interprets these characteristics either positively or negatively. Slowly and surely summer movies have begun take themselves to seriously, and I've found that the light, breezy B movies with A money become wonderful gems of popcorn munching sans pomposity. Without getting into a debate on the literary merits of comic books, not every story needs to deal with dramatic themes of human nature, love or good vs. evil - sometimes it's just fun to sit back, relax and watch a man burst into flame and fireball some bad guys.
