An interestingly heated discussion flared up at the end of last week in the wake of Armond White's inevitable pan of "Toy Story 3." IFC's Matt Singer has a terrific summary of the angry reaction to White's review, much of which is because he ruined the movie's 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Seriously. If people are going to get so ticked off about one person's opinion, maybe this is the new critical standard:
Truth be told, Singer's dead-on about the "who cares?" factor. Then again, if the fact that "Dogtooth" has an 89% "fresh" rating as of this writing makes any difference in the turnout for the movie when it opens on Friday, more power to the system.
