Seeing movies at Cannes requires a constant hustle that contributes to both the mythology of the festival and the ever-present stress it creates. This year, however, I have at least found a way to structure the rush, by using both Foursquare and the newly launched Miso to check into each location I visit and each movie I see. Whereas these utilities play a vaguely defined role in my life back in the States, here they help me maintain a systematic approach in an environment that dares you to lose your mind. Like Twitter, these social networking tools enable me to chronicle my day-to-day activities, pulling the ongoing insanity into sharper focus -- and sharing it with the rest of the world. Now if only I could become the Mayor of the Debussy on Foursquare.
